Bill does not catch wind of what Dwight is suggesting and brushes the films off as being "B-movie shit" which Dwight has showed him because he looks precisely like " that retarded pervert" from the second movie. Dwight makes Bill watch Tom Six's body horror films The Human Centipede (First Sequence) and The Human Centipede 2 (Full Sequence) in hopes of opening him to the idea of making their inmates into a gigantic human prison centipede. Bill's job (along with his accountant's) faces threat of termination by Governor Hughes Jackman because his prison's poor results will look badly at the election.

The poor statistics produced by his prison and a lack of respect from the prisoners in it encourages Bill to come up with crueler punishments, including water-boarding a prisoner with boiling water and castrating a particularly rebellious prisoner designated Inmate 297 using nothing but a knife and blowtorch before having the testicles for lunch. Due to a mix of mental instability and the extreme pressures brought onto him by his job, Bill brutalizes his prisoners who misbehave and often resorts to cruel punishments such as breaking Inmate 178's arm for stabbing a prison guard. This is showed in shared scenes with Inmate 297īill Boss is the sadistic, chauvinistic and ruthless warden of George H.W. Throughout the movie, there are references that Bill may have even felt inclination towards not just Daisy, but the male prisoners. These experiences likely molded his psychological profile extensively, particularly his extreme paranoia and narcissistic wish for total respect, which he ties in with the image of his masculinity, which he builds up with big guns, hex nostrums, overly dramaturgical speech, peppered with profanities, the emasculation of other men and an overcharged sex drive. It is insinuated this is caused by his grandfather and the pigs. His interactions with the prisoners also suggest that he was subject to sexual abuse in his childhood, which caused him to develop an intense fear of being raped. Bill references Exodus 21 : 23-25 in his quote " Eye for an eye, tooth for tooth, times one hundred", but has a very twisted interpretation of it.
In Christianity, he was specifically Roman Catholic, reciting many prayers throughout the movie. He identifies as Christian previously being a believer in Taoism. His status as a "mere German-European", rather than a born and raised European appears to bother him greatly and is seemingly the root cause for his jingoistic patriotism. Bill eventually moved to the southern United States and became a naturalized citizen. In response, young Bill felt extremely mistreated and neglected by his grandfather paying more attention to the pigs than him. According to Bill, said grandfather took it to himself to castrate each male pig personally, supposedly neutering thousands of them in his lifetime.
